Coach Hess was born and raised in California. He was a three sport athlete in high school and a three sport athlete in Junior College. He went on to receive a full athletic scholarship to Eastern Illinois University where he was a member of the Ohio Valley Conference Championship football and track team. He played three years of professional football and won two World Championships in Indoor Football. He earned his Masters Degree in 2009 and has been a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist since 2005. He has coached for 20 years at the high school and collegiate levels. He has been a PE Teacher at RTHS for the last nine years. Coach Hess is happily married to his wife Stephanie and he has two awesome kids, Julian and Josie.
