SPRINTS/RELAYS           HEAD COACH, MITCH WILSON
Coach Wilson is a 2001 graduate of RTHS, this will be his 9th year as the head boys track coach at RTHS and his 10th year overall with the program.  This will be his 11th year overall as a track and field coach.  In 2014 Coach Wilson earned his certificate as a Level 1 USA Track and Field coach.  Coach Wilson was a football and track athlete at Illinois College and upon graduation he has had the privilege to coach at different schools including J.W. Eater Junior High (2 All-State throwers), throws coach at Edwardsville High School (conference champ, sectional champ, All-State thrower), the sprints coach at Centralia High School (All-State indoor 4x200 team, 4x100 State Qualifier, All-State 200 meter sprinter), he then came back home to be the head coach, sprints coach, and assistant throws coach at RTHS (2 time sectional champ and All-State long jumper '14 and '15 and a conference champ and All-State thrower in 2014, All-State 4x400 relay in 2017).  Coach Wilson has had great opportunities to learn from some of the best head coaches in the state of Illinois including Chad Lakatos from Edwardsville High School and Tony Holler Plainfield North High School.  The different philosophies Coach Wilson has learned about sprinting have made a significant impact on the track team at RTHS in the last 10 years (15 All-State athletes).  Coach Wilson is a PE/Drivers Education teacher at RTHS and he lives in Rantoul with his wife Frankie and daughters Maddie, Meredith and son Maddox.
 
 

JUMPS            ASSISTANT COACH, JEREMY DIXON
 
 
Coach Dixon is a 2001 graduate of Rantoul High School where he competed in football, basketball, and track.  After high school he attended North Park University competing in football and track.  After college Caoch Dixon became an airplane mechanic.  He currently works for the USPS.  Coach Dixon is also a volunteer fireman and lives in Rantoul with his wife Jennifer and their three kids. This is Coach Dixon's 6th year coaching the jumpers at RTHS.            

DISTANCE        ASSISTANT COACH, NICK COLE

  

Coach Cole spent 11 years in competitive Track and Field. He was a state qualifier as an Eagle in the

4x800 (8:28) and the 1600 (4:37) as a senior. He was a two time team captain for the XC and Track and Field teams while in high school. He then moved on to college where he was a five time All Conference athlete in the NACC at Aurora University.  He is the former school record holder in the steeplechase at Aurora.  After college he spent one year as an assistant coach for the Men's Cross Country team.  Coach Cole graduated from Rantoul in 2011 and from Aurora in 2016. He teaches U.S. History here at RTHS. This is Coach Cole's 5th year coaching the middle/long distance runners at RTHS.

 

THROWS        ASSISTANT COACH, JOSH HINKLEY

Coach Hinkley is a 2002 graduate of RTHS. He played football at Blackburn College in Carlinville, IL.  Coach Hinkley and his wife Krista are both teachers at RTHS.  This is Coach Hinkley's 2nd year coaching at RTHS.  Before Rantoul Coach Hinkley spent several years at St. Thomas More High School in Champaign and was Athletic Director and taught PE.
